Trick or Treats?

UMB is for Me!
SAs Joy and William took a group of 14 students to UMass Boston's annual open house on October 15. The students were able to hear a speech from the chancellor, tour the campus, as well as learn more about majors, clubs, and sports at UMB. This was a wonderful opportunity for the students to meet other prospective students, professors and faculty, and gave them a chance to see UMB's beautiful waterfront campus.

Hiking Mt. Monadnock
Students were sky high with excitement as they climbed Mt. Monadnock in Jaffrey, NH on October 8. Taking about two hours to reach the summit, they got lots of exercise and witnessed some spectacular New England autumn vistas. Their spirits and their bodies were truly elevated!

Board Game Night
Students weren't Sorry! they attended Board Game Night last Thursday! Many of the students felt like joining the event was a bit of a Risk, because their Craniums had very little knowledge of American board games. However, the event soon had them feeling like they had a Monopoly on knowledge of two popular American games (Headbanz and Scrabble). It certainly wasn't a Trivial Pursuit!...Settlers of Catan. #sorry #boardgame #monopoly

Books - Check 'em Out
15 MAIA students had the opportunity to go to their local public library in Marlborough to get their own library card! These students received their cards and were very eager to start checking out books. Some students checked out several books, others bought books (for only 50 cents or $1) that went towards supporting the library. Students can't wait to come back to check out even more books as well as explore other libraries in the area. #library #reading #books
