

Alumni Day at MAIA!
This weekend at MAIA, we hosted over 25 graduated students for our annual Alumni Day! With beautiful springtime weather, students and alumni joined forces to participate in a variety of activities, including a delicious Chinese barbecue, potting plants to grow flowers, tie-dye t-shirts, and more! Badminton Tournament @ MAIA
This past Monday was MAIA's badminton tournament. The tournament was held in the basketball court and was planned by our very own SGA. Ten teams competed for the title of MAIA Badminton Champion and the 1st place prize of a new racquet set! Students enjoyed playing with their peers and coming to watch and support their friends' teams. MAIA Students Create Tasty Treats
On Thursday after classes, Student Advisors helped students make squirrel/birdfeeders that they could hang on trees outside MAIA. Using a few simple materials including pinecones, peanut butter, and birdseed, students were eager to make the delicious treats for their furry friends outside! This was an easy, creative activity that the students really enjoyed and a great way to get outdoors as the weather finally gets warmer!


Conquering Fears at Rock Climbing!
This weekend, MAIA students faced their fears and climbed over 40 feet in the air at a nearby rock climbing gym! With the support and cheering from their classmates, all of our students made it to the top of some of the highest and most challenging climbs available, and all got the chance to try a new challenge and see their hard work pay off. Art Museum Visit in Rhode Island!
The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Museum is a wonderful museum that houses modern, classic, local, and global art by famous and budding artists. This past Sunday an SA and a group of students took a trip to visit this famous university museum in the capital city of Rhode Island, Providence. Learning how to make Maple Syrup!
Maple sugar is perhaps one of the most famous treats in the New England region and Maple sugar season is finally here! On March 30th, a group of MAIA students visited a small maple sugar farm to learn about how maple sugar is made. Students were able to learn about the history behind this popular sweet and see how this is processed today. At the end of our tour, students were able to stop by the sugar house to have a taste of fresh made maple syrup.


Easter Egg Hunt at MAIA
This past Sunday, students celebrated Easter at MAIA with an Easter Egg and Easter Basket Hunt! Two of the SAs sent hints to students who then rushed around the building to find eggs so that they could win the grand prize of one of our awesome Easter baskets! The eggs all had various Easter goodies in them, including candy, toys and money. Rollerskating Night!
This week, MAIA students started off their weekend with a trip to the local Rollerskating Rink to test out their skills at rollerskating alongside many families, teens, and adults from the local community! The rink was lit up with colorful lighting and popular music for their Friday night special skate time, which made the environment seem like a party!
