Mrs. Paterson has been an educator since her undergraduate studies at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, where she studied English literature and composition. After completing her Master’s degree in creative writing at the University of Lancaster, she had her first position teaching ESL in Japan. Encouraged by her experience, she went on to attain her CELTA and moved to Istanbul to continue her career as an ESL Instructor at Istanbul Technical University. She returned to the U.S. at the end of the 2014-2015 school year and shortly thereafter joined the academic staff at MAIA.
