Olympics Opening Ceremonies

February 12, 2018

This Friday, the worldwide celebration of sports and country pride, the Winter Olympics, began its 2018 competition with the opening ceremonies. Hosted by South Korea, the winter Olympics brings together over 100 countries competing in numerous snow and ice events over the following three weeks. Students came by the lounge, excited to see the Parade of Nations and cheer on different countries. They learned a lot about each other and about South Korean history through the shows.

Students got a great amount of English practice and also learned a lot about the ceremonies and asked many questions. They learned about South Korean history and about the different sports involved in the Olympics. To top it off, students also got to snack on healthy treats creatively arranged in the shape and color of the Olympic rings!
