              STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION

The MAIA Student Government Association’s mission is to become a bridge between students and the school, to get them involved in the community, and to help them excel academically. We strive to make student life at MAIA enjoyable by organizing activities, communicating with students, bringing them together, and putting their suggestions into action.

              Ping Pong CLUB

​

At Ping Pong Club, you will learn different techniques and strategies to the game and most importantly play for fun and meet new friends. This club will be held in the Ping Pong room in the North Wing and is open to all skill levels! There will also be periodic Ping Pong Tournaments for students and staff to join throughout the year if you want to compete!

Times: Wednesdays 5:00-6:00 PM

               CHINGLISH CLUB

Chinglish Club offers MAIA students the opportunity to meet American students who are studying Chinese. Each month we will invite students from Marlborough High School to come to MAIA where we will participate in language exchange, do fun cultural activities, and have the opportunity to make local American friends. Joining Chinglish club is an excellent way to improve your English skills and learn more about American culture!

              ULTIMATE FRISBEE CLUB

​

At Ultimate Frisbee Club, you'll learn a new sport popular on college campuses throughout the US. Combining the athleticism of soccer with the strategy and precision of throwing, the sport appeals to students at all experience levels. Throughout the year we'll be on outdoor and indoor fields, playing a staff vs. student game and hope to even hold a tournament for the whole student body to enjoy!

Times: Mondays 3:30pm

              ENGLISH CONVERSATION CIRCLE CLUB

Participate in the English Conversation Circle at the Shrewsbury Public Library.  Students have the opportunity to interact with local community members who are also learning English and can learn about other cultures too!

Times: Wednesdays 3:30-6:00

              Chinese-English Exchange Club at King 

              Elementary School (CEC)

Every Tuesday students travel to King Elementary School in Framingham where they work with students ages 5-8 who are learning Chinese. MAIA students will participate in the young learners' Chinese club, reading stories, singing songs and playing games. They have the opportunity to speak English and Chinese and explore their potential as teachers!

Times: Tuesdays 2:45-5:00

              OUTDOOR ADVENTURE

Outdoor Adventure Club is a great way for students to experience new activities in the great outdoors. SA leaders will introduce students to the beautiful nature-filled environment that New England offers. Every month there will be 2-3 events that students can sign up for. Events may include hiking, kayaking, skiing/snowboarding, skating, rock-climbing, and more!

Times: Every month will be different so stay tuned for monthly info sessions!

              INTERNATIONAL DINING CLUB

Explore the World Through Food! Do you like travel, trying new things, or eating? If so, join International Dining Club! Every other Thursday we will visit a different kind of restaurant to try foods from many different cultures!

Take a break from classes and studying with the relaxing Art Club! Whether you want to master watercolors, sketch in pencil and ink, create some lovely origami, or simply unwind with some fun and easy coloring pages, this is the place for you! Stick figure masters and aspiring Picassos, all are welcome!
