Dumplings and Meeting Local Students!

Last week, students got to participate in an exchange with a local high school where they practiced their English, met new local friends, and most importantly, constructed, cooked, and ate dumplings!

MAIA students taught local students about dumplings, a classic favorite food and one important to the students from China. Students completed the entire process from stuffing the dumplings with vegetables and pork to frying the dumplings in water in the MAIA kitchen to finally eating the final product. Students exchanged conversations and tips about cooking the dish, and bonded over sharing the final yummy result!

After an afternoon of cooking and snacking, students got together to play a massive game of Jenga, which has become a favorite game among students. Overall, this was a successful event and a great way to connect with new local friends.
